WARNING TO CUSTOMERS WHO WANT HD

This is a warning to everyone who is looking for a wedding video filmed in HD.

Technology is on the move, as it always is, but that doesn’t mean that every camera works the same.

Many wedding receptions are darkly lit for creating a romantic atmosphere, such as candles and fairy lights. Make sure you know what type of cameras the company is using, as mood lighting can affect the quality of image depending on the type of camera.

There are various types of HD cameras out there, some offer great quality images and work really well in low light. BUT there are some cheap HD cameras that look professional but the image quality is very poor, they don't work well in low light, looks very grainy and noisy, which would be very disappointing especially for the price you pay.

We use the Sony EX1, which when videographers are trained correctly, works well in low light. Because of the high quality of HD cameras they film a clearer picture, but this means more mistakes can happen if the videographer doesn’t know what to look out for.

Compare apples with apples not apples with oranges

A thing to look out for is always ask the company what cameras they use and have a look at the quality in their sample weddings. Pay special attention in low light sections of a wedding, such as at the Chapel and Reception. Is their staff trained to use those cameras?

A video of your wedding is for life, just like your marriage, so don’t let it be a second grade quality, get the WeddingMovies team to capture your precious memories, because you only have one chance to get it right.
